Debra Caplan’s one-of-a-kind, glazed sculptures are petite, sometimes sensual, somtetimes whimsical clay pieces inspired by the female figure. The final form evolves from shapes and gestures suggested by the clay. Angles and planes are an integral part of each piece. Sculptures are finished with a bronze-like glaze. Some combine scored surface textures, highlighting the planes and angles of the form, suggesting movement across the surface.
